This project was incredibly fun to work on because it combined many of my favorite things. My goal was to recreate a music album cover in the style of a specific design movement. I chose to mix Panic! At The Disco's album Pray for the Wicked with Art Deco, a design movement popular in the 1920s. Many of the songs Pray for the Wicked give off a very 1920's feel, both in theme and sound, so for me it was an easy mix.
The design: I was partly inspired by art deco recreations of modern movie posters, which tend to use simplified shapes with little to no line art. I decided to create a line less drawing of Brendon Urie, the head of the band, and then I added the iconic art deco pattern behind him. Furthermore, the center square is meant to represent a halo of sorts, as a reference to the albums name.
