This booklet was created for the University of Houston's Construction Management Program. I worked with three other Digital Media strategists to bring this booklet to life.
Problem: Our group needed to create a print and electronic presentation for the Construction Management Program that explains the internship program, outlines the duties and requirements of the program, and markets the program to both employers and a diverse demographic of student interns.
Method: The first step of this project was meeting with our client to gather data and design specifications for the booklet. After this meeting, we determined the optimal booklet print size and began the design process. Once we finished designing the booklet, we sent an Adobe InDesign Share link to the client for review. Then, we revised the document based on feedback from the client. Once the client approved the proof and signed off on it, we send the file to the branding department at the University of Houston for approval. When the document was approved, it was printed on the Digital Media Program's Konica Minolta press and distributed to the client.
Solution: A 12-page, 8x8 colorful document that accentuates the UH CM program’s “simple vision to be the industry’s university program” to connect with employers and students.
Recommendations: The group came up with four recommendations for anyone working on a project like ours:
1. Set milestones and completion dates early in the project.
2. Ensure the team has a clear understanding of the project.
3. Use the InDesign review tool to get feedback from client.
4. Send the document to the client after each draft.
